Barnes & Noble has announced the voluntary recall of a power adapter for one of their Nook e-readers. The Nook in question is the Nook 7.

Here is what Barnes & Noble told the Consumer Product Safety Commission:

This recall involves the black power adapter sold with the NOOK Tablet 7”. The adapter bears markings: model number TPA-95A050100UU, manufacture date 201610. The NOOK Tablet 7” model number BNTV450 is located on the back of the NOOK.

Approximately 147,000 of these units were sold at BN stores nationwide and at BN.com. If you have one of these adapters, please stop using it immediately, you are at risk of electrical shock should the plastic casing break or crack.

You will be able to get a replacement and for your inconvenience a $5 Barnes & Noble gift card. To get the new adapter you will have to fill out a form on the Barnes & Noble website.
