Few situations are not drastically improved with a beer. One of those is hanging out and playing sports with your buddies. Apparently, this is frowned-upon at the collegiate level.

During a 10-1 drubbing of fellow Virginian school VCU, University of Virginia fans tossed a beer to their team's goalie. So he did what he was supposed to do: knock it back.

Was that wrong? Should he not have done that?

Apparently it was wrong. And apparently he should not have done that. He was kicked out of the game and the Virginia Cavaliers were issued a five minute major. In all my years watching hockey, I don't think I've ever seen anyone penalized for drinking. In fact, having hung out with hockey players, I'm pretty sure there's a bigger penalty for not drinking. But hey, y'know, rules are rules. I guess.
