November 5, 2019 is an election day in New York State. There are many political races that will be decided that day. Did you know that you are able to vote early? Vote Early NY allows voters an additional 9 days to be able to cast their votes.

How does it work? Instead of your usual voting place, you will need to check the Vote Early NY website to find one of the designated voting centers in your county. For instance, Ulster County has 7 different early voting centers. If you are looking to cast a vote early, you will need to head to one of those places. If you want to cast your vote on Tuesday November 5, 2019 at your regular poling place, you have to do nothing, but show up on that day at your regular place. The only catch? You will have to complete your early voting by the Sunday before the election.

If you are unable to make either the early or regular voting, you can also request an absentee ballot through your counties Department of Elections.

New York is planning to continue giving residents the early voting options. Will you take advantage of it?
