It's not the Bronx or Brooklyn either. I know it might seem hard to believe but Detroit, Michigan is the best city to grab pizza.

According to a new ranking from Anytime Estimate, Detroit has the highest amount of independent pizza places per capita with 6 shops per 100,000 residents. I love Detroit-style pizza and I know I'm not alone because it is quickly growing in popularity.

Thankfully, you can find some amazing Detroit-style pizza here in Upstate New York made passionately by someone who grew up in Detroit.

Hudson & Packard Pizza in Poughkeepsie, New York Has Won Multiple World Titles.

Hudson & Packard entered the International Pizza Expo in 2022 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and had an outstanding performance. In fact, they dominated the pan division and won second-best in the world.

To prove they could do it again they entered the Pizza Expo in 2023 and took 3rd place.

Hudson & Packard is famous in the Hudson Valley and the world's pizza community but they are about to get a lot more exposure. According to their Instagram page, the veteran-owned pizza place will be featured on Veteran's Playbook, a new series on Discovery's Destination America about veteran entrepreneurs and business owners.
