Feature Film Seeks Hudson Valley's Largest Church

A major movie being filmed in the Hudson Valley is on the lookout for the areas largest church. Specifically mentioned are Kingston, Poughkeepsie, and Newburgh but the ultimate goal is to find the biggest. The movie and TV business continue to heat up in the Hudson Valley with numerous casting calls and set searches seemingly every week. Mark Ruffalo's production of I Know This Much Is True has been filming for much of the year and will shine a light on Poughkeepsie and other towns in the area.

HBO will be putting on a new production and will begin filming later this year after a casting call was just announced for The Plot Against America starring Winona Ryder and John Turturro.

But that's not all, because there is much happening behind the scenes and there are jobs for production assistants, set designers, along with hair and make up people and more. The Hudson Valley Film Commission has been a strong advocate for bringing this type of work to the area which benefits local restaurants, hotels and the community at large.
