A fire department in Ulster County is reporting that one of its emergency vehicles was vandalized last week.

Forgive me if this comes off as rude but I have to ask, what type of moron would vandalize a truck whos job it is, is to help the community when there's an emergency?

Sadly, that's the question the folks at Woodstock Fire Co.2 Wittenberg are asking after one of its emergency response trucks was vandalized while it was parked on the side of a road.

The department, which services the Bearsville, NY area, went on to explain that they park the truck in this position so that its response time isn't affected during emergency calls.

"We may need to reconsider leaving the truck there. If we relocate the truck, it will add 20-25 minutes at least to our response time instead of the 5 minutes it takes now," said a department official. If anyone has any information as to who might be responsible, please contact the department at 845-679-6803.
