Is This Taking ‘Giving Tuesday’ Too Far?

I think my coworkers are misunderstanding the purpose of Giving Tuesday.

Most of the awareness days on the calendar are kind of ridiculous. It seems like there's a day for everything. We've got pizza day, phone a friend day and selfie day. However, there's something kind of special about Giving Tuesday.

Last week you probably stuffed your face on Thanksgiving. Maybe you sat in line on Black Friday or treated yourself on a Cyber Monday deal. You should treat yourself with you hard earned cash.

Giving Tuesday officially kicks off the season and spirit of giving to those less fortunate or who just might need a little help during the holidays. There are a lot of ways to help out different organizations right here in The Hudson Valley. You can find out how to help local kids get presents by donating to out Shop with a Cop event.

Sadly there are people who may not understand the spirit of Giving Tuesday like I do. My coworkers really should pay it forward.
