A headliner has been chosen for the next Hudson Valley Homegrown showcase at Darkside Records in Poughkeepsie. The winning band received more than 60% of the votes.

Kingston punk rockers Kyle and the Pity Party will headline this Friday night. The band consists of musicians Brett Jones, Kyle McDonough, Garin Sheeley and Nick Vining. Poor Lily received the second most votes but are unable to play this weekend (I'm sure we'll see them again sometime). Frank McGinnins and The Whim are stepping up to play after placing third.

All the artists considered for this showcase have songs you can hear each week on Hudson Valley Homegrown Sunday nights at 10pm. It's an inside look at the local music scene hosted by JB and the crew from Darkside Records 611 Dutchess Turnpike. If you like what you hear, they carry a lot of the local stuff too! Be sure to check out the show each week for exclusive local music and interviews. We'll be doing more showcases in 2017 so we'd love to hear what you've got.
