It's been a bit since we've given you the scoop on new alternative music, hasn't it?  Well, outside of our new music show anyway....

Did you know that each week we give you the latest (and greatest) new alternative music releases?  We're talking singles, albums, remastered or special releases, top to bottom, left to right, we've got it for you.  For the latest in the world of alternative music, you've got to be with us for Sunday Studio Cuts, each Sunday night at 10pm on WRRV. Thanks to Darkside Records, Val (that's me) will give you an inside listen to songs, and even some new artists, that you wouldn't typically hear on the air.

It's time to take a look at some of the great new tunes we gave you over the past few weeks....GO!

Glass Animals:  I Don't Wanna Talk (I Just Wanna Dance)

This is a cool new track from Glass Animals.  My favorite part about it, well i'm glad you asked.  In a recent interview, Dave Bayley of Glass Animals said "I want people to switch their devices off, put this song on, close their eyes and have that release for a moment" - I think we can all agree, after the past 18 months, we're feeling that.  Take a look at the official video below!

Des Rocks:  MMC

Des Rocks just dropped his debut album on Friday September 24th -  A Real Good Person In A Real Bad Place, and the whole thing is a hit.  MMC happens to be my favorite song, so I was excited to share the track with you on this past week's Sunday Studio Cuts show.  I also had the opportunity to interview Des for our podcast, and you can access that here.

The Offspring:  Gone Away (Piano Version)

We were obviously very excited for a new album from The Offspring, Let The Bad Times Roll, that came out over the summer.  What made it even better, was the re-release of one of our favorites, Gone Away, the piano version of the song.  What a great sound to one of their most popular tunes.

Rufus Du Sol:  Alive

What an incredible video for Rufus Du Sol's new song Alive.  You may think it was captured by a drone, but apparently that isn't the case, it was made using a 3-D creation tool called Unreal Engine owned by Epic Games.  The new album, Surrender, will be out on October 21st.

Kings of Leon:  Time in Disguise

It's got that classic KOL sound, Time in Disguise is off their latest album When You See Yourself.  The guys did something pretty cool with this song, as part of a charity auction for St. Jude's with the help of SpaceX.  According to an article in People, one of the auction items, 'the most notable item is a new NFT [non-fungible token] song by Kings of Leon from the group's recent album When You See Yourself. The all-new live recording of "Time in Disguise" will become the first minted music NFT to go up in space, marking a major milestone not only for the band but also the music industry.'  You can read more about KOL in space here.  PS, check out Val's interview with Jared from Kings of Leon here.

Olivia Vedder:  My Father's Daughter

I'm not saying I saved the best for last, i'm just saying that with Pearl Jam being my absolute favorite band, I decided to use this tune as the big finale!  With not one, but two songs on the Sean Penn Flag Day movie, Olivia Vedder (yes, Eddie Vedder's daughter) gives us her all on My Father's Daughter, co-written by her dad, along with Glen Hansard.  Relatable lyrics accompany this great piano ballad.
