Man Killed in Beekman House Fire

A man was killed in a residential fire in the Town of Beekman Saturday night.

The fire departments of Beekman, Pawling, East Fishkill, Patterson and Lake Carmel responded to the fire on North White Rock Road at 8PM on Saturday, New York State Police said.

The homeowner told her neighbor that her house was on fire and her boyfriend was missing. A call was placed to Dutchess County 911 and the New York State Police at Dover Plains and multiple fire departments were dispatched. Fire department personnel searched through the charred debris of the home and found the man's remains, police said. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

In addition to the New York State Police and the fire departments, other responding agencies included the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division, Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, Amstar EMS, New York State Electric and Gas and the New York State Department of Transportation.
