Now Closed: Popular ‘Roadhouse’ Shares Heartbreaking Update
Hudson Valley residents were shocked to read the news that began circulating social media this week of the immediate closure of a very popular Dutchess County restaurant, well-known and loved for the massive pretzels shown below.
Hundreds of comments and shares later, the area is still trying to process the news of Patsy's Roadhouse on Rt. 376 in Hopewell being closed for good.

Patsy's Roadhouse in Hopewell Junction, Est. 2018
When I moved back to the Hudson Valley after living in MA for a few years, a group of friends told me about this 'great new spot' we should go to grab drinks and catch up, 'Patsy's' in Hopewell. Drinks that night turned into appetizers, dinner, and even dessert, and hours spent discussing my (then) can't find a house crisis, and Patsy's became our go-to spot for girls nights, birthday celebrations, and family outings (and the first spot we went to celebrate after getting my cast off after major ankle surgery back in 2021).
We loved everything about the restaurant, from those amazing sweet potato chips with the dipping sauce, the french onion soup that came with scissors to cut the cheese, the cocktails and especially the pretzels....
What I wouldn't give for one more family get together on the outdoor patio sharing a pretzel.

Patsy's Roadhouse Announces Immediate Closure
In a post on their social media on Thursday May 22nd, ownership at Patsy's started by sharing 'with the heaviest of hearts the saddest news' - that Patsy's had ceased operations that very day.
"Guy" - Gaetano - went on to share that Patsy's had become a staple of the community, emphasizing what many of the comments from customers shared upon reading the news. Patsy's was a spot for a amazing food, great cocktails or a cold drink, with the kindest staff.
The responsibility of running something of this magnitude is first and foremost challenging and it’s never easy trying to provide a good product or service while being able to maintain a viable source of revenue. Sometimes the overbearing obligations take a big toll and despite the best efforts to try and keep the doors open, at some point there’s the realization that is no longer sustainable.
Cited as 'the hardest decision' he has ever made, the message did conclude with an optimistic outlook:
For as painful and ugly any ending might feel, there is always an outlook at new beginnings and with the excitement of what tomorrow might bring. In the meanwhile, I sincerely and deeply thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.
