Record Store Day This Saturday

WRRV will be kicking off Record Store Day in Poughkeepsie this Saturday, Darkside Records is the place to be starting at 9am. WRRV will be hanging out from 9-11 with your chance to win Pearl Jam tickets for Madison Square Garden.

Record Store Day is great for music fans because bands release all sorts of exclusive content you can't get anywhere else. Darkside Records staff fully expects people to start lining up the night before, as people have done in previous years.

There will be live music all day long, including the Hudson Valley Homegrown Showcase featuring Steven Bagan and Retrofeelya.

As far as exclusive releases go, here's a taste:

• The Flaming Lips‘ alternate mix of Cloud Tastes Metallic with a comic written and illustrated by Wayne Coyne; and an 8xLP albums boxset called Heady Nuggs Vol.II Studio Albums 2006 – 2012
• Foals‘ “Rain” 7″ with a cover of Mark Ronson and Kevin Parker’s “Daffodils”
• Death Cab for Cutie‘s “Tractor Rape Chain”/”Black Sun,” featuring two live tracks and a Guided by Voices cover
• Best Coast‘s “Late 20s” b/w “Bigger Man” 7″, featuring two previously unreleased B-sides
