Rock and Roll Resort Music Festival This Weekend In Kerhonkson
Rock and Roll Resort v8: The Grateful Escape will feature an amazing weekend of music in the spirit of the Grateful Dead. The Hudson Valley Resort and Spa in Kerhonkson will once again play host to three full days of music this weekend.
Golden Gate Wingmen are set to headline Friday night. The band formed in 2014 and consists of musicians who have all jammed out with members of the Grateful Dead. Jeff Chimenti (Ratdog, Dead & Co) will be tickling the ivories. John Kadlecik (Darkstar Orchestra, Further) is on vocals and guitar. Jay Lane (Primus, Ratdog) and Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green, Steve Kimock Band) make up the rhythm section on drums and bass, respectively. They don't play in the area all that much so don't miss out.
Headlining night two are the legendary Melvin Seals and JGB. Formerly known as the Jerry Garcia band, Seals and company do their best to continue the musical legacy of Jerry Garcia. You can expect two sets from each headliner.
The great part about this festival is you can sleep over comfortably in the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa, but you'll want to reserve your room in advance. You'll find great bands up and down the bill including two nights of Connecticut's Kung Fu, The Breakfast, and Jen Durkin's 'Soul Power'. The full lineup and tickets can be found at Rocknrollresort.com.
