Fishkill Welcomes Rombout Station 2

Growing up in Fishkill, not all that far from the former home of the Rombout Fire Company Station 2, and just down the street from the new facility, I was always impressed that my local fire department was made up of volunteers. In 1971, when the growth of the area, and more specifically the demand that a more commercial town had on the fire protection capabilities in Fishkill, the Rombout Fire Company was developed and legally incorporated.

The location of the original Rombout Station 2 was somewhat tucked away, just outside a very residential area of Dutchess Park where I grew up, off Cedar Hill Road.
