
These Local Splash Pads Now Open For The Season
Another heat wave has hit the Hudson Valley (before prime hot weather season might we add), and while some may be jumping for joy at the thought of summer-like temps and plenty of sunshine, others are not as excited about the warm weather. If you've got little ones who live for those fun in the sun days, well have we got news for you....some of the local splash pads have announced early openings for the season.

Newburgh Announces Three Splash Pads Open For Season
The City of Newburgh along with the Recreation Department have announced that effective Tuesday, May 19th, these splash pads are up and running and ready for the kids! The City of Newburgh Recreation Department can be reached at 845.565.3230 for additional information.
- Xavier Lunan Park – 66 Courtney Avenue; 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Tyrone H. Crabb Memorial Park – 94 South Street; 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Audrey L. Carey Family Park – 251 Liberty Street; 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM
The city shared that the following with regard to the splash pad launch for summer 2026:

Bowdoin Park Opens Splash Pad Early
Similarly, in Dutchess County, Bowdoin Park in Wappingers announced the opening of their splash pad and water spray area, earlier than initially planned!
Located at 85 Sheafe Road in Wappingers, the water area will now be open daily from 10am until 7pm, weather permitting.Dutchess County Parks invite visitors to:
come cool off and enjoy the beautiful river views!
In addition to the splash pad, Bowdoin also offers several playgrounds including an accessible area, picnic areas, soccer and softball fields, a sand volleyball court, and more!
