Surgeon General: Masks May Increase Risk of Illness
People all around the world are buying medical masks an respirators in bulk to help prevent catching the coronavirus. These masks not only won't prevent you from catching an illness. They may actually increase you chances.
Many people around the world are coming more and more nervous about the coronavirus. A lot of that fear has recently spread to the Hudson Valley after the first reported case in New York is only an hour and a half in Manhattan.
Medical masks have been listed on the local Facebook Marketplace for insanely high prices and people are being encouraged and scared in to stock piling masks.
According to CNN and the Surgeon General, wearing these mask could actually help spread the virus because people who are inexperienced with them will actually touch their face more.
A tweet from the Surgeon is urging people whoa aren't sick to stop buying masks so medical professionals can get have them.
