The place 'Where a Kid Can Be a Kid' is getting ready to change things up a bit. Chuck E Cheese's locations nationwide are going to be phasing out tokens in all of their restaurants.

How will this affect playing games? They are going to be rolling out what is called Play Pass a new tap-to-play card system that uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Technology. According to a press release, over 200 locations have already made the change over, with the rest of the locations making the switch by the end of 2017.

I called the Poughkeepsie/South Hills Mall location of Chuck E Cheese and asked the employee who answered the phone if they had made the switch from using tokens yet or not. He said that they had everything installed and that it looked like they should have it up and running by the 14th of December, but that it would definitely be up by the end of December.

For those of you who are worried about your tickets? Yes, machines will continue to 'pay out' with the coveted paper tickets that can be redeemed for prizes.

Look at the positives of this change, token jams in your favorite games will virtually be eliminated and you won't have to carry around tokens in your pockets weighing you down.
