Does PETA Think Drinking Milk Makes You a White Supremacist?
Is PETA just off their rocker or is there something symbolic behind drinking milk?
I recently came across an article from PETA's website claiming that people should rethink drinking milk because of the racist meaning behind it. I've got to say that it was the first I'd heard of such a claim. Is there a link between drinking milk and being a white nationalist?
If I'm being honest, I don't read a lot of articles from PETA due to their bias and demonization of anyone who opposed their beliefs but I had to investigate this a little further.
Does drinking milk really make you racist? Of course not, but according to the article from PETA, white supremacists are chugging milk. But why? According to the New York Times, geneticists expressed how due to genetic mutation, white Europeans could digest lactose easier than other races.
PETA even references the scenes in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds where Christoph Waltz' character is seen drinking milk and eating extra cream on is food.
There have been signs of white supremacists chugging milk and using milk as props in their videos. There is a link, but does being white and drinking milk make you racist? No, I don't believe PETA does either.
