Gap will be investing $96 million into is Fishkill Distribution Center, and that will include hiring more people. Gap Inc. plans to add 12-hundred jobs to its distribution center in Fishkill over the next five years.  Governor Andrew Cuomo says Gap plans to invest 96-million-dollars to expand and renovate the center which is located just off Interstate 84 in Fishkill.  To secure the investment, Gap will get tax credits from the state and county.

According to a press release from Governor Cuomo, said that Gap did considered other locations across the United States but chose to invest and grow in Fishkill, where it has operated for 14 years.

The $96 million investment, which will include the purchase of new machinery and equipment, is being funded in part with up to $12 million in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Tax Credits from the state, which are tied to job creation and investment commitments, Cuomo’s office said.
