Have you started looking or even thinking about what your costume is going to be for Halloween? Or are you like a few of us who will wake up that morning, head to the closet and come up with a costume at the last minute?

If you are one who prepares in advance, how do you go about getting your costume ideas and how much are you willing to spend on the costume?

According to a survey from the National Retail Foundation, "5 million adults plan to dress like a witch, 2 million as a vampire, 1.8 million as a superhero, 1.5 million as a pirate and 1.4 million as a zombie."

Are those 5 costumes not the classic Halloween cast of characters? Come on, will being a witch or a pirate or a zombie ever get old? Not likely. For those that assemble their costumes, the average cost is about $50 and can be even less expensive. If you find yourself out at the Halloween store putting your costume together with paid for items, expect to be more in the $100-$150 range, spending more the longer you wait to get the costume ideas together.

So, what are you thinking about being for Halloween? How much do you think that you are going to spend?
