HV Artist Needs Your Help Winning Vans Design Contest
Just a couple clicks could make a Hudson Valley artist's dream come true.
We have so many great artists here in the Hudson Valley. If you don't believe me you can check out a few local hashtags.
Vans has officially kicked off their Custom Culture Contest. Many artists have transfered their work from canvas on the wall to canvas on a shoe but only one will win and have their shoe created and sold. Octopus Ink Painting and Murals is an artist tag team made up of husband and wife Ricardo and Emily Ramirez out of Walden, New York. They''re currently in the first round of voting and you could help them advance to the next round.
Click HERE and vote for their "Kitty Dragon" design. You can vote once per day.
How cool would it be to own a pair of Vans shoes that were designed here in the Hudson Valley? The design is inspired by the intricate detail and color scheme of Chinese pottery. Ricardo wanted it to be fun, unique, and recognize that art doesn't have to be too serious. That's where the cat-dragon came from. We have a cat, and sometimes the damage she can do while playing is equal to housing a dragon
"As a local artist, my goal is not only to share my love of art with others but also to inspire others not to fear expressing themselves. Not to be worried about what others think and create something that makes you happy. Share it with the world, and maybe it'll make someone else happy too."
