IKEA Offering “Help” To Consumers Who Bought Furniture
IKEA is offering free fixes for over 27 million of its dressers and drawers after two children were killed when the furniture fell on top of them. IKEA is offering anchoring kits free of charge to anyone with the "Malm" style bedroom furniture. The kits will affix the dressers to the wall. (In the instances of the two deaths, IKEA says that the wall anchors that were supplied with the original purchase were not used to secure the furniture to the walls as recommended. The company is not issuing a recall on the products, because anchoring kits have always been included in the Malm pieces.
