It is already that time of year again, the time us Hudson Valley parents (or care givers) start thinking about what we are going to do to occupy the kiddos during the summer. Of course, summer camp registration is in the distant rear-view mirror, and let's be honest, kids these days do not head outside and occupy themselves with the neighborhood kids ALL DAY LONG like we used to do way back when - so what else is there?

Kids Bowl Free Returns To Hudson Valley Lanes

A tradition for years and years (17 to be exact) not only here in the Hudson Valley, but across the states, the Kids Bowl Free program is an opportunity for 2 free games, per day, for kids, all summer long.

Over the past 17 years, more than 45 million kids have participated at bowling alley locations across the U.S., and the program has been quite popular here in the Hudson Valley with several participating locations.

What's Included in the Kids Bowl Free Program

Once you select your home lane, create an account, and register your littles, you have a few different options to consider. Some alley locations offer a shoe rental program for the summer not necessarily for free, but could be unlimited rentals at a discounted or one-time price. There's also the option to register other 'non-kid' family members as part of the Family Pass which would include a single payment to enroll in the program, and then offers two games for up to four registered adults for the summer.

From there, the two free games at your home lanes must fall within the allocated 'Kids Bowl Free' hours and you're on your way to strikes, spares, and maybe even a perfect 300 game...or at least the goal of bowling without bumpers by the end of summer.

A list titled "Best small towns to raise a family" was recently compiled by Stacker, who used data from Niche to come up with the Top 50 small towns across the country that would be the ideal place to put down roots and raise some kids. They looked at various factors, including public schools, jobs, and the cost of living in towns across the U.S. with a population under 5,000.

We are proud to report, New York owned this list. We took 17 slots! Here's who made the list:
