A Hudson Valley humane society is asking the public for help after an injured kitten was found in the middle of a residential road.

The Warwick Valley Humane Society shared that the small animal was discovered "with a bloodied face" as well as several other medical issues that required immediate attention. Now they're hoping someone will be held responsible for what was done to "Ava".

Injured Kitten Rescued from Road in Chester, NY

"This little emaciated girl was found waiting in the middle of Arcadia road in Chester, NY with a bloodied face", began a recent post from the Warwick Valley Humane Society (below). Details painted a grim picture.

Ava the Kitten Rescued in Orange County, NY

The kitten, who was named Ava by staff, needed medical attention not only for her physical injuries, but for vaccinations and deworming treatments as well.

The Humane Society suspects that Ava's facial injuries could have been caused by an act that has unfortunately been witnessed before in this specific area of the Hudson Valley: being tossed out of a moving vehicle.
