New York’s Maple Weekend(s) Are Happening
Do you think that maple syrup is only good for candies and pancakes? Think again. Maple syrup can also be used in bar-b-que sauce as a topping for your creme brulee or as an ingredient in your Old Fashioned.
New York has set aside two weekends a year to really get the word out on one of its most prolific crops, maple syrup.
March 19 & 20 and April 2 & 3, 2016 there will be over 160 maple farms and museums participating with sugar house tours, samples, activities for kids (of all ages). Most of the participating places will be open from 10AM to 4PM.

- For 1 cup white granulated sugar, Use 1 cup maple granulated sugar OR use 1 cup maple syrup AND reduce other liquids by 3.7 ounces (just under 1/2 cup).
- For 1 cup packed brown sugar, use 1 cup + 1 tablespoon maple granulated sugar OR use 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon maple syrup AND reduce other liquids by 1/2 cup.
