As the winter months bear down on us, the inevitable could happen, right? Someone, maybe even yourself, might come down with a cold. Do you have anything special that you do, when you think you are getting sick?

I make a 'tea' by boiling ginger root with water for 5 minutes, allow to cool slightly and then drink it. I repeat this every 8 hours until I start to feel better. Others that I have spoken to, say that I should gargle with a combination of equal parts apple cider vinegar and water.

I have friends who have suggested taking additional vitamin c supplements, airborne, emergen-c, etc. Do I think that any of these things actually work? I am not sure, I do know that none of them could really hurt. Obviously, if you are not feeling well, only a licensed physician can tell you what is wrong with you and prescribe treatment.

Do you find that your home remedies work for you? Do you believe in them? Do you head to the doctor and the first sign of something being wrong?
