Compassionate Animal Rescue Efforts of Dutchess County (CARE of DC), a 'no-kill" non-profit organization that rescues animals who have been homeless, neglected, abused, or at risk of being put down, have opened up a new Thrift Store.

Located at 1 Commerce Court, Wappingers Falls,

We have THE BEST stuff; beautiful costume jewelry, a great selection of purses, including like-new designer bags. We have fun and unique decorator pieces, cool furniture, lots of knick-knacks to plunder through, AND (drumroll please) a HUGE selection of brand new items to set Rover or Kitty up in all the best new stuff; clothes, dishes, toys, beds, collars, and leashes... You name it and we've got it!!! Come on down and get your shopping fix on, have fun, support our great rescue and go home with a car load of treasure!!!

This Wednesday, June 26th, CARE of DC will be offering a special kitten/cat adoption event in the new Thrift Store space for those with a pre-approved adoption application.  Find more information about the application process, as well as adoption documents by visiting their site HERE.  You can even submit the adoption application right on the website for easy review.

If you'd like to take a look at the kittens/cats that are available for adoption, check out their facebook page that has links to photos and descriptions about the animals.

Thrift Store hours are 11-4, and if you can't make it on Wednesday, you can always swing by Petco in Poughkeepsie on Saturdays from 11am-3:30pm for their weekly adoption events.

I actually recently adopted a mom/kitten duo from them, and couldn't have been happier with the experience, and our two new family members.  Meet Boots and Socks!
