WRRV Sessions Recap: Bike Routes, From New Jersey!
On Thursday June 4th, WRRV welcomed Bike Routes to the Sessions stage for our first of two free shows for the month.
For those new to the idea of WRRV Sessions, we bring your favorite (and perhaps now that i've seen them live they're my new favorite) WRRV alternative rock artists to Newburgh Brewing Company for free shows. Our goal is always to give you a show each a month, but sometimes we double down and get two shows in during a month, and in the past have even done two in one week (wild, we know).

Bike Routes Brings Acoustic Show to Newburgh
After announcing the show in mid-May, we spent the next few weeks preparing for a great night of live (and always free) music with Bike Routes, an artist from New Jersey named David Osterhout. You probably heard us playing a few of his tracks on WRRV, but especially showing love for his latest single, Delicate, ahead of the show.

Ahead of each WRRV Sessions performance, Val sits down with the artist/band to chat live on the air and get all of our (and your) questions answered. First topic for discussion was the 'proper' way to pronounce Routes, rooot vs rowwwt. The consensus....roooot is how he says it, but described it as a regional or to-may-to/to-mah-to type situation.

Other things discussed during the interview include a recent hometown show at Asbury Park with BLEACHERS, the new Bike Routes record, Prairie, which will be released on June 26th, and upcoming tour dates with our pals Slow Joy.

A Great Night with Bike Routes at Sessions
Another 10/10 night in the taproom, Bike Routes couldn't have been nicer, was a joy to interview and incredible to watch on stage. A passionate performer who was so appreciative of the opportunity and all who came to catch the show.
Check out a little recap of the night here, and give us an Instagram follow if you'd like to see more Sessions and WRRV behind-the-scenes.
We're doing a double dose of Sessions this month as we prepare to welcome Julia Wolf to the taproom on Thursday June 18th.

Our WRRV Sessions events are always free and family friendly, and the only thing you need is the WRRV app to get in the door. WRRV Sessions wouldn't be possible without the support of our wonderful partners - Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law, Sohns Appliance Center, Newburgh Brewing Company and SUNY Orange Plus.
